The story of Nota Sonotra started on a rainy December night in 2010, when three young Latin guys living in Israel decide to casually Jam.
Gabo, Sam (Venezuela) and Arian (Panama) had just finished their army service in the Israeli Defense Forces. Full of unleashed expresion, it was right then and there… that night in that Jam…that Gabo, Sam and Arian knew what they wanted to live and breathe for the rest of their existence: MUSIC! That same night, two of Nota Sonotra’s most popular songs (‘Aqui Estoy’ & ‘La Loba’) were born.
Since then, Nota Sonotra has become the main reason why Gabo, Sam and Arian are alive and breathing.
Immediately, the band started writing and composing songs, performing live and recording in Israel. In August 2011, the band’s first album, DIME,(http://soundcloud.com/nota-sonotra/sets/dime/) came out with 12 original songs. DIME was Written, Recorded, Mixed, Designed and Promoted by the 3 members of the band. DIME took Nota Sonotra to Panama for a Live Tour with shows with up to 500 people and exposure on Television and Radio. (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Oxrwd8bA520, http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-O3u4bii2Gg ). After their first amazing tour experience, the band decided not to waste any time and started writing songs for their second album and performing live as much as possible. Their hard work and passion brought in great news! Nota Sonotra earned the opportunity to record for free at the Converse Rubber Tracks Studio in NYC! The band arrived in NYC on February 2011, playing live at the Copacabana Club in Times Square in front of 500 people. The happiest days of the band were the three intensive days of studio work at Rubber Tracks. It was during this short time that six of the nine songs of the second album ESTAS MANOS were recorded with producer Mike Caffrey. (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GHRX2bQAdVw)
In April 2012, Nota Sonotra was invited to perform live in Barcelona, Spain. This time, the style was a mix of Israeli and Jewish songs with a Latin Rock rhythm. The band drew a crowd of more than 150 Spaniards.
The band is now back in their beloved Israel were ESTAS MANOS is now being heard live in many bars. (http://soundcloud.com/nota-sonotra/sets/estas-manos/) Nota Sonotra is getting ready to embark on their next adventure, an International Tour starting January 2013. The tour starts in Panama, where the demand for Nota Sonotra is soaring since their first visit, followed by a national tour of Mexico!
